My Approach.

I use a person-centered approach to therapy, meaning I allow clients to “lead the way” in their own therapy. Many therapists stick to one theoretical approach and use that treatment with all clients. I like to take time to get to know my clients, establish rapport, and identify which evidence-based treatment works best for them. Every client is different and therefore I tailor the intervention to their specific needs.

I am trained in many interventions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Meaning Centered Psychotherapy, Behavioral Activation, Prolonged-Exposure Therapy, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy. Our work together will likely use one of these approaches. I welcome the opportunity to help you work through major life transitions, reduce symptoms of distress, and create the life you want to live.

Here for you.

At Tranquil Talk Therapy, we provide telehealth services (i.e., therapy provided over a HIPAA compliant video platform) to increase accessibility for clients. Morning, evening and weekend hours are available, making it easier for clients who are occupied during the traditional 9-5.

Perhaps, you’re a stay-at-home parent who is unable to secure childcare until your partner returns home. Or, maybe you live in a rural area and are unable to regularly attend in-person appointments. Possibly, you or a loved one is undergoing a medical event, and your days are filled with healthcare appointments. If that sounds like you, my practice is here for you.

Tell your story.

My core belief is that every person has a story within that needs to be told. Unfortunately, many of us have been unable to share our story with others. Perhaps a traumatic event has occurred, making it challenging for you to incorporate it into your narrative. Others may have received the message that your experiences, thoughts, and feelings don’t matter. But, that’s not true!

Your mind is telling you that your story doesn’t matter. Many of us are overwhelmed and discouraged by life circumstances. Outwardly, you may appear to be doing okay. Inwardly, you may feel like you’re barely holding things together.

In therapy, we’ll work together to unpack and process your story. We’ll identify new ways of thinking and novel ways of doing things to improve your life. In doing so, we’ll collectively create the life you yearn for and ensure you connect with the things that are important to you on a daily basis.
